Kathryns Graduation!

Myself and my date
The time has come where the youngest grandchild has graduated from high school! How exciting =) Our family is growing up and just plain growing so quickly. My grad was held on May 19th at Northlands Expo Center. It was a fabulous and tiring day as i had my "prom" and commencement all in one day. Thank you to those who congratulated me on facebook i really appreciated it. And all those who were able to attend my graduation dinner a couple weeks ago. Its so nice to know that my family is there to support me.
For my life after high school i got a job at The Smile Spot ( the orthodontics where my mom works) i will be working in the back sterilizing utensils and being an assistant to the dental assistants. It will be a good learning experience i am really excited =) I am also excited to start attending institute I just love learning about the gospel.

That's the update about my life, if you want to know more don't be afraid to ask =)

heres a few pictures of my grad.. I'm hoping to get pictures sent out to everyone soon =)

Spreading the news...

This is an idea that I came up with after talking to Auntie Carol at Karlee's wedding. Hardly any of us know what's going on with the other families in the D.W. Hatch family. That's pathetic. We are F-A-M-I-L-Y.
Pretty sure most people like to be kept in the loop with exciting news such as "Not only was someone pregnant for almost a year but they had a baby!" (p.s. I'm having a baby boy in 3 weeks. We will see how long I can go before I'm "Living the mini-van dream!")  That was for you Lars. Or when a family is moving to a different city, province or country. Or maybe you got accepted into school, just finished, or started a new career.

Now I'm not asking for the details like that Dad has a cold again and has been coughing occasionally for 2 days. Lame. This is a blog where there is only room for the Good Stuff.

So this is how it works, I will send the user name and email information to whoever I can find emails for (I would appreciate you passing it on to everyone else in the family).  You have the option of either posting your awesome news yourself or sending an email to dwhatchfamily@gmail.com and I will post it for you.  Pictures are awesome. We don't have church until 1:00 every Sunday so you can expect a weekly update every Sunday morning!!!

Now for all you paranoid mama's out there... the blog is open to the public for now.  Once we get people's email addresses we can make the blog private (meaning only approved people are allowed to look at the blog and it will require your email address and password to access it).
So you won't have to worry about creepsters looking at pictures of your precious kiddos.

Now for your viewing pleasure and because it's basically the only picture I have at the moment...

Don't even try to tell me you didn't laugh at this.

Ok so here is the latest and greatest!  Karlee and Phil Beazer got married last month. April 23rd to be specific. Super fun wedding and miraculously no wind!! They moved to Texas for the summer.  Phil works everyday to rid Dallas of their annoying pests. (the insect variety).

p.s. Karlee just had foot surgery and is currently hanging out with my mom in the Peter Lougheed Hospital.  They have been there for 5 days now. Feel free to visit!

It was fun to have so many family members around and then to have the best Easter Dinner!  Shout out to Auntie Jan for making a beautiful wedding cake & enough delicious pies to feed 40 people. YUM!!!

Am I making this up, or do other people remember having Easter at Grandma and Grandpas, and it occasionally working out with General Conference too?  It seems to me like it happened often when we were little.
Another sweet memory was the twig "Easter Tree." All the kids had a Easter egg on it with their name and a stale little jube jube treat inside!  That was the best.

Here's an update on Grandma and Grandpa.  Their basement flooded AGAIN.  Sheesh. Grandpa has decided to plant grass in his backyard again, and Grandma bought 2 or 3 new dresses.  Auntie Carol and I had the privilege of taking her clothes shopping.  It was a delight!
I am begging you all to comment if you wish on how nice she looks but please please please don't tell her you like her "new dress".  It was all we could do to keep her from giving the outfits away (the same day she bought them) because she doesn't want to look like she is "better than the other ladies in Cardston".  Thank you in advance.
We can chuckle a little but imagine if everyone in the world had that attitude.  It would be a pretty neat place.

Highlights we can hopefully look forward to hearing about...
